On paper alone the Jaguar Supersport has brought the fight to? the Mercedes AMGs,BMW Ms, and Audi Ss of the world, but in a Jaguar way. Im saving up for my Supersport, should have by 2012.

@DroidNoid agree i was at the? sacramento international car show and had the Cadillac cts v and it was 73,000 and the seats felt hard and there not a lot of room in the back but going into this Jag was just so good and feels like a expensive car

    Great? exhaust note!

  10. hiwatari81 says:

    @StuRaz Fair? enough…wait I just got distracted…XJ-R…mmmmmmm!

  11. StuRaz says:

@hiwatari81 You’re just being thick now. If this video was of an M5 or an XJ-R (if it happens) I’d half agree with you, but it doesn’t. This is Jaguars answer to the 7 series, not an M3? or an M5. In a performance car I agree it’s relevant but not here and they’ve completely ignored everything that matters. It’s so braindead I feel embarrassed for them.

  12. hiwatari81 says:

@StuRaz At risk of sounding obtuse, why would BMW have an “M” division at all if performance were not at least a little important. That also goes for Mercedes AMG, and the S and RS cars from Audi. And even a non-M BMW can be had? with 300 & 400+ HP twin turbo engines. Why all the fuss if people aren’t concerned with (at least in part) performance. I understand where you are coming from, but isn’t performance part of the driving experience and therefore a reason to purchase one car or the other.

  13. StuRaz says:

@hiwatari81 Well I’ve been in the car business for nearly 9 years and I’ve never seen anyone coming in looking at either a BMW 3, 5, 6, or 7 series give one about any of these stats.? It’s a terrible video, you can not defend something like this it’s so far off the point.

  14. hiwatari81 says:

@StuRaz Those numbers/stats aren’t? “as” important to most buyers as interior quality, technology packages, driving comfort, interior dimensions etc. But those stats are still important. I agree that it would be nice to see a full-length test to include interior shots and opinions of the test drivers on the quality/comfort…

  15. StuRaz says:

@hiwatari81 Are they as important as ride quality, mid range torque,? rear leg room, luxury, standard features, boot space, ergonomics build quality, fuel economy? No, and Edmunds has ignored every single one of them that someone looking to buy an XJ would possibly care about. Not skid pan Gs and how quickly it will go through the 1/4 mile post.

  16. hiwatari81 says:

@StuRaz Yes actually these are important traits that some buyers look for in this segment. When you spend $80k+ on a luxury sport sedan or even a luxury quasi-sport sedan buyers want to know these things. And every? car sold that I can recollect has been tested in these areas…from the Ford Fiesta, Chevy Trailblazer, Toyota Tundra, Nissan Altima, Mercedes S-Class, Corvette…shall I go on? They are relevant bits of information to some buyers.

  17. sebastianlaws says:

this car makes? the german rivals look rather

  18. StuRaz says:

What the fuck is this?? Does anyone give a shit how the XJ performs here? Might as well test a Viper ACR or a Gumpert Apollo on comfort and rear leg room while they’re at it.

Another mind-blowingly stupid video by Edmunds. Sort it out.

  19. jml8841 says:

@LeafsFlamesAndOilers The LS is boring to look at, not exciting and certainly NOT cool. Yes it probably is more advanced in some areas, but it really isn’t a car you want to drive unless you’re under the age of 60. The LS may? be popular in America and Canada, but over here in Europe it doesn’t hold a candle against either the S or the 7. Sales of the germans over here are 5 times higher than those of the Lexus.

  20. LeafsFlamesAndOilers says:

@jml8841 The Lexus LS absolutely destroys the S-class. Its just not as fast, exciting, cool, or popular as the S so? most people never realize how good it is & it flies under the radar but as far as technology, luxury, & comfort goes, the S class & 7 series are worlds apart from the Lexus.

  21. ProJcool says:

This car is sexy!? How much is it?

  22. Icecrsty says:

Normally? i’m not a big fan of the brand but this is an exception fore my.
I love this car so much !!!

  23. 4MATICbenz says:

Those performance figures rival? those of AMG S-class’. Im impressed.

    Nice engine note too
