@reneecalaway You’re welcome. Thank you for visiting our channel.?
My door handle has been kinda loose for a while now. I wondered if it was something that needed to be replaced… apparently I need to do it before it breaks and I can’t open the door anymore. I had no idea that it was such a common? problem in Explorers. Thanks for all of your videos!
you guys? are freaking awsome!!!!!! im a uti student and i cant wait to go into lab. thats where anoter student broke my door panel lol. thanks again.
Thanks a lot for? posting. I just replaced mine. Very helpful video!
Extremely helpful. Replaced? mine today. Thanks!
@Cristofre Thank you for checking out our Ford Explorer door handle replacement video. We have these door handles? available on our website. 1aauto.com/1A/DoorHandleExterior/Ford/Explorer/1ADHE00178?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=youtube&utm_campaign=1ATony
I just followed your instructions and was able to replace? my door handle with no problem. One note- the bolts, nuts and washers for installing this did not come with the handle from Ford parts. Luckily I just happened to have the right pieces at home.
@ManBearSquirrelGuy The Ford dealer? should carry those clips for you guys.
@zuliek I also have that problem, my clip is broken, where can I get a replacement yellow clip?? My truck is a 1994 Ford Explorer but they look almost identical.
@cartreachery The replacement door handles are just like the original ones that Ford had. If you co to you local auto body supply store they should be able to color match a? spray bomb for you to paint you new handle the same color as your Ford Explorer.
nice video – just a few questions before I attempt this myself:
a. did you use a plastic door handle ? If not, who has metal ones ?
b. why didnt you spray to match existing color before installation ?
c. how do ordinary people get their door handles spray painted – to match the car? ?
d. its really hard to see what is going on in the section that non car guru’s need the most – the interior of the door – I couldnt really tell what were doing there
thanks in advance from Car Treachery !
Very helpful! Thank you for posting? this!
@covault4yeshua what video did you use? to do back doors
This procedure also works for a 1995 Explorer. I used 1/4”-20 x1/2″ round head bolts to attach the handle to the door. Thanks for the great? video Mike!
Hey I’m on my 3rd door handle on the? rear pas side from you guys and my rear driv side just broke. I got a couple questions. Is there a way to ajust the mech to keep the intact and is the rear window tract one piece?
I’m wanting to replace the door on my 92 Ford Crown Vic, Im more worried about the wireing. Im wonding? if I cant use the old wires on the new door that I bought, also just some general help with it.
What size are the bolts you put in where? the ribbits use to be? My door handle didn’t come with bolts.
Awesome video, thank you so much for posting this! Was using a Haynes manual and it just said to detach the door latch actuator, no pictures, no help. Just like the previous commenter (covault4yeshua), I was stumped at getting to it until this video? showed me how to move the window track. Thanks for saving me a ton of money on a mechanic!
We need to replace the exterior handle on the door behind the? drivers door, it is different inside, how do you replace the clip on that, as it is very hard to get to. Our clip might be broken.
Thanks, it was the window track that had me? stumped…. didn’t know how I was going to reach the clip with the track in the way.YOUR VIDEO TOOK AWAY MY HEADACHE!
I will look for your videos in future situations.
Hey 1A Auto- thanks for the clear directions. Followed your video step by step? and managed to get it done in my XLT. It took me about 50 hits to punch out the rivets though. Whats up with pretending you did it in two shots?
D
Thanks again,
Phoo
